CANCELLATION POLICY
Please provide adequate notice (24 business hours for follow up appointments and 48 business hours for new patient appointments) if you need to cancel or change an appointment. We often have a waiting list and, because we do not double book, your appointment time cannot be used by anyone else if you cancel on short notice or do not show up.
As indicated in the office policies that you agreed to prior to your first appointment:
- Cancellations without adequate notice or no-shows will be charged the full fee for the appointment missed ($75.00 for follow-up acupuncture appointments, $100 for follow-up SAAT appointments, $100.00 for new patient acupuncture appointments, and $200 for new patient SAAT appointments).
- Patients who habitually arrive late, fail to show up, or cancel on short notice will be dismissed from the practice.
- If you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, you may have to reschedule and will be charged a late cancellation fee.
- We require a valid credit card on file (NOT an HSA card) in order to schedule appointments. This card will be charged missed appointment fees as described in the policy above.
Please note that we are unable to offer exceptions to this policy. In an effort to make our services as affordable as possible, it has been over ten years since we raised our fees. During that time the Consumer Price Index has risen 32% and many of the costs associated with operating our business have more than doubled. Like many businesses, the harsh reality of dramatically rising costs have forced us to become more restrictive in our policies. For some businesses this has meant less generous return policies, smaller portions or product sizes, fees for things that used to be complimentary, shorter/more limited warranties, etc.
For us, this challenge has necessitated the implementation of a “no exceptions” late cancelation policy and a surcharge for credit card transactions. Although we understand that these policies may be a source of frustration for some, we ask that you consider whether there is any other good or service that you are paying the same for as you were in 2014 and we thank you for your understanding.
